Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia and seat of
Government and Diplomatic mission for Africa and
It is the continent's premier diplomatic center
as the head quarters of the African Union. It
is a city of surprises characterized by diversity
and contrasts.
Addis rumbles pleasantly across many wooded hillsides
and gullies cut through with fast flowing streams.
It enjoys a mild, Afro-Alpine climate with an
average temperature of 16°c. Addis Ababa came
in to existence in 1886, when Menelik, King of
Shewa moved south from the Entoto mountain. This
115 years old city lies on the central plateau
with a population of about 4 million. |
