Day 1, Arrival At Addis Ababa
Arrive Addis Ababa late at night. - In Amharic, Addis Ababa
means "new level in one of the highest parts of the Entoto
mountain chain (3,000m above sea level). Overnight Hotel
Day 2 - Bahir Dar
An hour's flight takes you to Bahir Dar,( Set at 1,830 m. above
sea level ) an attractive town with tree-lined avenues and the
deep blue lake in the background. Lake Tana is Ethiopia's largest
lake and is dotted with islands. After lunch visit the local
market, the Woito village (where the local people make the Papyrus
boat) and Mount Bezawit for view. Overnight Hotel
Day 3,- Bahir Dar
In the morning depart by boat to visit the Zege peninsula for
monasteries of Ura Kidanemihret, Azewa Mariam and the monastery
of Kibran Gebriel( Only for men) to see mural paintings, crowns,
crosses etc. On the way back to Bahir Dar see place where the
Blue Nile River and Lake Tana join. Overnight Hotel
Days 4 - Gondar
Drive to Gondar and visit the castle and the church of Debre
Berhan Selassie and the Bath of king Fasiledous and the Felasha
village. Overnight hotel
Day 5 -Lalibela
Fly to Lalibela. (Set at 2,600 m.above sea level) At the end
of the 12th and beginning of the 13th centuries, King Lalibela
of the Zaghwe dynasty built a series of rock hewn churches,
rightly acknowledged as one of the wonders of the world. visit
the cave church of Na'akutola'ab and the first group of churches

6, Lalibela
Trek
on mule or horse to the monastery of Asheten Mariam. Then visit
the second group of churches, which represent the Heavenly Jerusalem.
Finally, visit the church of St. George. Overnight. Overnight

Day 7, Axum
Fly to Axum, once one of the four great powers of the ancient
world. We will see the remarkable stelae or obelisks, the largest
single pieces of stone standing anywhere on the world. There
are also tombs and castles of former monarchs, the Axum Museum
and Mariamtsion Church, built on the site of Ethiopia's first
church. A chapel within the church compound is believed by Ethiopian
Orthodox Christians to house the Ark of the Covenant, or the
original tablets of Moses. Our tour starts with a visit to the
museum and the stelae. Then you ascend a hill to see the castle
of King Kalab, passing Mai Shum (the bath of the Queen of Sheba)
on the way. Coming back into town, you will see the tomb of
King Basen, visit the small museum inside the church grounds,
and end the day at the site known as 'Queen Sheba's Palace'
(although it is, in fact, the villa of an Axumite notable from

Day 8, Addis Ababa
Fly to Addis Ababa- After lunch have a city tour in Addis to
Entoto the former Capital for its best collection, the National
Museum, where Lucy is kept and Ethnological museum, and one
of the largest open-air markets in Africa, known as the "Mercato".
